Hawaii for Informed Consent welcomes you to our site and to our first blog post!
This post is longer than what you can expect to read here in the future, but it establishes our purpose.
It is our mission to inform you about your right to informed consent in both medical procedures and scientific experimentation. To learn more about the historical evolution of informed consent principle and its philosophical underpinnings, see this highly recommended article. We seek to keep you apprised of related current issues in the state of Hawaii and in general. As you will observe on this website in the future, we particularly emphasize our urgent concern for violations against the public’s informed consent right with regard to vaccination policy and procedures.
We are parents, grandparents and healthcare workers—some of whom have personal experience with vaccine injury to self, family, friends and/or patients. Our group initially came together to promote legislation preserving the right to informed consent to vaccination and to educate the public about vaccine injuries, which we believe are grossly underreported; above all, however, we support individuals’ decisions whether or not to vaccinate, based on the most complete information available, to include personal benefits versus risks analysis—which is the accepted standard of care with other medical procedures.
We observe excessive pharmaceutical industry influence in the US allopathic healthcare system, which results in mass confusion among both patients and providers as to what health information constitutes truth and what is merely medical industrial propaganda.
Many vaccine-administering physicians and other healthcare professionals are unaware of:
• Vaccine ingredients—just ask your practitioners if they are aware of the hazardous ingredients, some of which are now routinely injected into pregnant women and newborns on their first day outside the womb.
[Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock has lectured about immunoexcitotoxicity induced by such early vaccination, which can detrimentally affect the sensitive neurochemistry of developing babies.]
• the fact that vaccine manufacturers are legally shielded from all liability for vaccine-induced injuries and deaths, and that any injury claims are addressed to a special taxpayer-funded, extra-judicial “Vaccine Court”—overseen by non-judge magistrates. This became law with passage of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act [NCVIA] of 1986.
• the fact that there is a disparity in the vaccine information written on the CDC-generated Vaccine Information Statements [VISs] and vaccine manufacturer package inserts. VISs are supposed to be given to all patients for every vaccine to be administered. We at Hawaii for Informed Consent criticize the insufficiency of the VISs to adequately alert both vaccine recipients and healthcare professionals to signs and symptoms of vaccine adverse events.
Current vaccination practice by most healthcare practitioners authorized to vaccinate is, in our opinion, woefully deficient and in violation of our accepted standards of informed consent; both recipients of vaccines and their healthcare team members are under-informed and misinformed about the risks and benefits of vaccination. Too often, tragedy and regret result.
RIP Colton Berrett, Gardasil vaccine recipient, diagnosed with “transverse myelitis.” Sadly, he is one of many victims of vaccine injury.
Vaccine injured victims and their families lament blindly having followed their healthcare teams’ advice to vaccinate, without having done their own prior research. Online research by laypeople has its potential pitfalls, but so does vaccination for some individuals. Truly informed consent to vaccination is dubious at present, due to the imbalance of information which touts vaccine benefits while de-emphasizing risks. This has resulted in laypeople and healthcare professionals alike not recognizing adverse events. It is estimated that a relatively small fraction of actual vaccine injuries get recognized as such and fewer still get reported to the VAERS registry, thereby rendering VAERS a likely inaccurate underestimation of the true picture of vaccine adverse events.
Here is a link to the Hawaii state medical board’s rule [see Hawaii Administrative Rules for the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, §16-85-24 through §16-85-27, pages 11-12] on “Informed Consent”. Were you given information in accordance with that requirement the last time you agreed to be vaccinated? If you had any questions, were they answered to your satisfaction?
Are you confident that your healthcare provider could back up with facts the notion that vaccines are truly “safe and effective” with independent, unbiased, methodologically sound, placebo-controlled, peer-reviewed scientific studies, or are they just repeating a mantra generated by entities with financial ties to industry? [in the previous link, see the remark, “In fact, Dr. Offit’s studies show that in theory, healthy infants could safely get up to 100,000 vaccines at once.”]
Learn more about Dr. Paul Offit, here, here, here, and here; Offit is the foremost proponent of vaccines in the US, often quoted as an authority. We challenge you to compare his statements on vaccine safety and efficacy to the many physicians and researchers who contradict him, yet he is often the medical community’s and mainstream media’s “go-to” authority on vaccination. On this website, we will introduce you to those brave health care professionals and scientists who publicly express their concerns about vaccination safety and efficacy—giving them the exposure that the mainstream media neglects to offer them.
It couldn’t be a more critical time for physicians to step forward and be heard: infant mortality on the first day of life is higher in the US than in all industrialized countries—and we also give the most vaccines to children of all those countries. Is this just a coincidence, as vaccine proponents would explain? The mainstream medical community and media discount any association of morbidity and mortality with the burgeoning US vaccine schedule. Yet the cumulative effect of the entire schedule on individuals has not yet been studied. Is it rational to deny any association without having studied it? We at Hawaii for Informed Consent say it is irrational.
There is a nationwide and international trend toward vaccination mandate expansion and elimination of current exemptions, which vary by jurisdiction. Hawaii for Informed Consent members engage with the Hawaii State Legislature to protect and expand exemptions to mandatory vaccination.
Could you imagine being forced by law to take an antibiotic or other medication, despite having had a prior, recognized adverse reaction to that medication? This would be the result of universal mandates with no exemptions for people with prior vaccine adverse reactions.
We believe that individuals, parents and guardians must retain the right to consent to or refuse any medical interventions or scientific experimentation, particularly when such interventions or experiments carry a risk of injury. Properly executed informed consent involves full disclosure of known risks and benefits prior to an individual’s consenting to a procedure.
Since the mainstream media is failing to do so, we will introduce you to families suffering from loss or injury of loved ones, and the loss of their dreams and aspirations. Too many victims are having to dedicate their life’s energy to the care of a permanently debilitated family member. We take no joy in doing this job, but if it might help convince people to do more thorough research on vaccination risks before consenting to vaccination, it is worthwhile.
We strongly encourage our readers to not ever take our word, nor anyone’s opinions—regardless of perceived credibility or reputation—as truth or fiction without verifying claims for themselves by checking and cross-checking references. Healthcare consumers must do their own homework on medical interventions whenever time permits; it is foolhardy to assume that just because a medical professional offering an intervention or advice has impressive credentials that one is receiving sound medical advice. Not all healthcare professionals agree on treatments and on reliable sources of information.
Contrary to claims by some who seek to dominate debates on controversial topics, science is never “settled”; that notion is contrary to the very essence of science, which is ever-evolving by rethinking and re-testing hypotheses. Wise consumers recognize logical fallacies and keep an open mind to options. Remember, physicians are not infallible, in spite of impressive degrees, reputation, or experience. Their opinions are only as good as the quality of information they consume and promote. Members of the medical profession have historically promoted bloodletting, cigarettes, cocaine and heroin, Thalidomide for pregnant women, lobotomies, Vioxx, forced sterilization, condemnation of hand-washing and demonization of dietary fats and cholesterol.
As with the evolution of thinking which occurred in turning around those aforementioned “lapses” in medical judgment, we now observe an increasing number of physicians and healthcare workers who publicly are challenging the wisdom and controversial history of vaccination’s success in promoting health. We are proud to stand with them in our collective effort to educate others about the true nature of vaccination history, safety and efficacy without contamination of pharmaceutical industry bias.
Hawaii For Informed Consent is focused on raising awareness of the right to informed consent to medical procedures and experimentation, as well as raising awareness of vaccine injuries so that people can better advocate for their rights.
